To become eligible for the low- and moderate- income apartments, please complete and return a Preliminary Application. We will process your application and send you a confirmation within three weeks. When apartments become available, we will contact a limited number of applicants who are on our list for the size and income category of the apartment that will be available. A final application and documentation to verify identity and income will be required and processed at that time. Since final applications are only processed when a specific apartment becomes available, we can not accommodate applicants' choice of floor plan.
If you are interested in applying to rent an affordable home in Springfield Gardens, you can download an application by clicking on the Preliminary Application; e-mail us at SpringfieldGardens@HousingQuest.com; or call us at 609-786-1100, then press 5 to request an application. SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT YOUR SPRINGFIELD GARDENS APPLICATION: Due to the very large number of applications for this property, the wait for an apartment will be significant for many applicants. This is especially true for certain unit types - for example a very low income unit, where the largest waiting list exists for the smallest number of units. Additionally, the Township of Springfield requires that we provide a preference to applicants who currently reside within Region 2, as set forth by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs. That region consists of Union, Essex, Morris and Warren Counties. Therefore, applicants from those counties will be processed prior to applicants from outside of that region. We want you to know all this, so that you have a realistic expectation regarding your application. We appreciate the fact that the need for affordable housing in New Jersey far exceeds the opportunities that are available. We want you to know that we are doing everything that we can to help everyone have access to an affordable home.
